ScopServ offers its resellers and clients various basic and advanced training programs. The goal is to provide ScopServ partners with appropriate knowledge and superior technical skills on ScopServ products so they can service their customers.

Such training courses are available upon request via Webinar sessions and we strongly encourage those who wish to increase their knowledge to register. If necessary, a specialized instructor may be sent to another area but all relevant travelling expenses would be chargeable. ScopServ basic training

ScopServ Basic training is a two-day training course to teach the fundamentals of ScopServ using theory and hands on training. The objective of this course is to familiarize students with ScopServ and the environment in which it operates.

Knowledge of Linux and Asterisk is a plus but is not mandatory. The emphasis is on the practical implementation and not the detailed understanding of each element of a ScopServ deployment or operating procedures of this technology.

 

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for attending this training but a knowledge of networks (Linux) and telephony would be an asset.  

Educational objectives of the training

At the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the purpose and primary functionality SCOPTEL as PBX platform and application development
  • List of features associated with a SCOPTEL PBX
  • Define operating system environments in which SCOPTEL is developed and supported
  • Describe SCOPTEL supported PSTN connections and identify digital or analog interface types required for these connections 
  • Identify the Basic characteristics of Analog and ISDN connections and compare VoIP Interfaces
  • Install and launch SCOPTEL
  • Configure SCOPTEL to offer traditional telephony features such as call routing, voicemail and directory services

ScopServ Advanced training

ScopServ advanced training is a 3 day training which covers the knowledge and skills that a ScopServ administrator must master in their daily work.

It is a combination of theory and hands on training to provide students with both the concepts and field experience necessary to deploy a ScopServ installation worthy of the name.

Students will learn to create and manage dial plans and deploy advanced telephony solutions using SCOPTEL features. During this training, students will also see the most important aspects of VoIP.

Students learn how to design a robust SCOPTEL VoIP architecture. They will also address the interconnections with different facilities such as telephones (analog and IP) , PSTN Interfaces (analog and digital) and ITSP (IAX2 Trunk).

Prerequisites

Students should have a basic level and some familiarity with the Linux operating system. They should feel comfortable with editing the configuration file in text mode and graphics. 

Ideally, they should have a first experience with Asterisk and scripts dial plan. Basic knowledge of the telecoms sector would be desirable. Students must have completed ScopServ basic training.

Educational objectives of the training

ScopServ advanced training is designed to prepare consultants, integrators, staff and ITSP administrators to install, configure, administer, and debug solutions based on SCOPTEL.

  • Syntax and building numbering plan including simple IVR systems
  • Effective use of SCOPTEL features, such as call parking, audio conferencing, music on hold and much more
  • Recording and Playback of call
  • The theory of traditional telephony and how to connect SCOPTEL to the PSTN
  • ISDN Voice (BRI, E1, T1)
  • The fundamentals of VoIP and network concepts
  • SIP and IAX protocols
  • Connect SCOPTEL to a VoIP provider
  • Logging into SCOPSTATS and generating CDR reports (Call Detail Recording)
  • Configure ACD queues and agents with SCOPTEL
  • Routing with dynamic call DUNDI
  • Using the Asterisk Manager Interface to control Asterisk via an external program
  • Troubleshooting and debugging SCOPTEL installations
